April 3

Sorry for the absence…apparent technical problems.Danny and I arrived in Hue yesterday afternoon and it has been very, very hot and humid. The bus ride here from Hoi An was great. Today we met with Khanh of Hearts for Hue and toured three of their projects. In a word, amazing. Dove Fund is the principle sponsor with Khanh heading up the projects. Riding on mopeds,we first toured a school erected by D.O. V.E. Fund a year ago. What a a great facility. The staff and children were so accommodating and gracious. I have photos and video, which will be shared soon. Kids are so, so cute. The next stop was a school for mentally challenged folks. Many are there a short period of time while others require more lengthly stays. What is really neat is their poultry program, the intent of which is to provide a solid source of income for departing patients. Towards the end of the day, we had the opportunity to visit a grouping of "boat people", who live full-time on boats tied up along the Perfume River. What is very cool is that D.O.V.E. Find, through Hearts for hue, has established a solar system in the boats! These folks now have electric, which greatly improves their lives. In a nutshell, today was just plain amazing and rewarding. Danny and I will spend tomorrow bouncing around Hue, then will meet with Khanh and his family for dinner. Khanh is such a caring, driven person. It's refreshing how much he has accomplished using private donations. He would be a great candidate to handle our U.S. gov't finances!

More to follow…must get this posted.
